To follow our path there is a good map with desciptions of the various locations
here
.
Ta Prohm has been left closer to the way it was found, with only support work carried our to prevent further collapse. It's the place used to film Tomb Raider among other
movies. Next we checked out Banteay Kdei which is similar in design but much quieter, biked past the brick built Pre Rup and spent some time in Ta Som with it's tree taking over
the east gate. Neak Pean is a pleasant spot for a rest while Preah Khan is one of the best restored complexes and a fine end to the "grand tour". From here we biked back through
Angkor Thom and raced the susnset to Angkor Wat where Tim climbed quickly enough to see the sunset from the top (more spectacular than the pictures convey). We had to ride back
7km (4 miles) in the dark but it was a great day. Click here for part one of the pictures.

Angkor once had complex drainage systems. Their
breakdown over the centuries mean monsoon rain now threatens to undermine many buildings

Reminded me of an English country church

Another unique building, almost Roman looking
