Dalrymple

Dalrymple was an important town in the region in the 1860s, sited at the crossing point for the major river in Queensland the Burdekin River and close to several mines. Flooding destroyed much of the town in 1870 and it dwindled away as Charters Towers became more important. Now the region features a National Park and a spring fed stream, Fletcher Creek, with a great free campground on its banks.
