Camooweal
A small town on the Queensland/ Northern Territory border, and the only significant civilization for 200km in any direction. The Barkly Highway from Camooweal to the Stuart Highway was built in 7
weeks in 1941 as a supply route for Darwin in case of attack by the Japanese, Camooweal was the site of a US base.
