We made a brief stop on Queensland's "other" coast, after weeks on the east coast. The area is quite isolated but has a thriving fishing industry and is increasingly popular with tourists
for fishing holidays. Normanton was the original port on the Norman River. It's railway runs only to Croydon, a small town to the east and is not attached to the rest of the network. Karumba is at the river
mouth while Karumba Point is famous for its sunsets. There was also a large number of grasshoppers swarming near dusk.
