My VSO training group arrived in Malawi on 6th September 1990 and headed to the Red Cross Training Center in Dowa for two weeks of language training and an introduction to the Malawian culture. 18 of us enjoyed large amounts of Malawian food and a chance to get to know a rural part of the country.
