Rotorua

Another long weekend and this time we were drawn to the tourist magnet of Rotorua. While it's geothermal attractions are not on the scale of Yellowstone we both agreed that this area is it's equal (OK, we haven't been to Yellowstone in a few years so maybe the memory is fading) for convenience, variety and no little beauty. Add in the Maori culture and a pleasant town (those who call it Roto-Vegas may be dazzled by a couple of streets but clearly haven't been to the real Vegas) and this is somewhere we'll return to.
