Day 18: Makuju

Todays clinic, and the final two, are organised by Paul and his colleagues. Today's is just out of town at Mukuju and probably our quietest, though we manage to register and see 350 people. Translators are also a problem, we never seem to have quite enough and those we do have come and go. The venue is good, another open sided government building like that we used near Jinja.

A sad end to the day when we come upon a crowd on the road in Tororo: a young boy has been killed by a vehicle as he tried to run away from a stray calf. Sadly many African countries have very high accident rates as roads are shared by people and livestock, many cars are poorly maintained and roads are often in bad condition. We stop but there is nothing we can do to help, other than provide a cloth to cover the body.
