Latest Update: I have caught up with pictures from the trip until we left Queensland, including some above and underwater shots from our second trip to the Great Barrier Reef and pictures of the wide open spaces of the outback.
Blogs: Check out the links on the left for my blogs from Asia and New Zealand, and a new one from Australia.
Interesting link: I have followed the progress of Mark Beaumont, a Glasgow University graduate, in his successful effort to beat the world record for cycling round the world. He passed through Wanganui on the 23rd December and I rode north with him for 40 km or so. Read his amazing story here.
Current Location: Uluru (Ayers Rock), Northern Territory.
Hi, as you might guess my name is Tim Cooke. I'm from Bishopbriggs, an insignificant dot on the Scottish map just north of Glasgow. In October 2006 my wife Tracy and I gave up our jobs, found good homes for our animals and set off to do some travelling in Asia en route to work in New Zealand February 2007. Now we are in the midst of part 2 of the Antipodean adventure: 5 months travelling is Australia. Check out pictures and blogs using the links on the left.
I've spent much of the last 18 years travelling, when the need to earn money didn't intervene, and taken a lot of pictures. If you have a slow internet connection you'll need to be patient. I am working on adding pictures from countries I have lived in (Malawi, the UK, USA, Grenada, New Zealand, Australia), my more recent travels (Ecuador, Costa Rica, Grenada, Asia) and there are links to complete sites I put together in the past dedicated to a medical mission in Uganda and Kenya and two marathon bike rides.
I still run the website of the American Public Health Association Oral Health Section, and designed one for the local Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Group. Check them out using the links on the left.
Finally, I am interested in genealogy so if you are researching any of the names Cooke, Arnold, Lee, Bannister and Whitaker (mainly from England) have a look at the family trees.
This site is gradually being fully populated with pictures. I hope to have everything posted eventually.
